Hi!

Ok, here is my contribution to the contest. I must say that i've just started with xsi, as my wonderfull max has crashed and doesn't want to work; so this is my firs work i do in xsi. This is all i have right now:

http://sm.p1x.org/misc/wood_00.jpg

The first picture is how the wood it's supossed to look like when finished. The second is the character (limot...) ... the third are some mushrooms.. :insane: .. and the fourth... just an ultramodern lamp. :)

This is just a closer look to the lamp. Time to put some textures on it. :)

That's all.... i'll try to update soon....

erghhh.... does anyone know how to make fog in xsi? and a nice smoke effect?

All looks rather splendid so far!

These challenges are becomming a pain - I keep adding my favourite entries to my "email notification list" - and there's loads of them!

This is just one more...

:D

I really like the hanging cooking pot. It looks great! May I ask how you did the cables that hold the pot to the stick? Was it a path extrude?

Thanx for the comments. :)

ZrO-1: I've used a spline to extrude a shape along it. To put the spline around the stick i've used "snap to surface". That's all. ;)

Here it is another update:

http://sm.p1x.org/misc/lamp_01.jpg

It's suposed to be textured.... the flame is made in potoshop so you can have a better idea of how it's going to look like. Uhmm.... i've reached to the conclusion that i don't know anything about texturing.....

Can someone help me with xsi's Render Tree??? I'm really lost.... :(

ps: i'll have to re-texturize it..... arghhhh......

Uhmm..... another really tiny update.

samartin: that's not a Moomin (what's that?), it's a limot.... :buttrock: and... the other "thing" is not a cooking pot, it's a lamp. :)

Here is the finished lamp:

I have supplied a piccie of a moomin (I hated that program when I was a kid - a little freaky) :-

http://www.gre.ac.uk/~hp805/pics/mm1.gif

There you go - That's your first picture of a live Moomin!

His name, if you were wondering, is Moomintroll. A strange looking creature, no?

Note especially the vacant expression, the lack of any breathing devices, the lack of any reproductive devices, and the Tommy Gun cunningly concealed in his fake tail!

Moomintroll is a very slippery character... If you ever meet him, you should run away, very fast! He's already wanted for several police charges of murder, larceny, theft, rape, sodomy, and other such sordid nastiness. Steer well clear!

well u did ask...

1 comment about the lamp that is the inner part of the lamp now looks flat compared 2 the previous image but does have nice details. :)

Hi again,

samartin: WOw! that moomin is really scary... x'DDDD

Uhmm... another "update":

http://sm.p1x.org/misc/displace.jpg

This is not really an update, but it's to show how i'm gonna do the trees. :) I've used just a displacement map onto a cilinder. Uhmm.. now i'll try to do a tree... i think that i'll have something for tomorrow. :buttrock:

Maybe this will help to someone...... as i've seen a lot of people modeling all the tree... :)

bYE!
