View Full Version : Vehicle: Ferrari Enzo GTR (Custom Tunning)
shadowkeeper 09-06-2003, 02:22 PM Hey there Guys!!! This is how I would do on Enzo Ferrari! Took about 26 hours modeling (i guess). Modeled in max 5.0 and rendered in max 5.1, lol!
Enjoy!!

looks good,
the front is really wicked, i love that little lip. However the back needs some work, it looks too busy.
the material also needs a bit of tweaking, love to see it in an environment.

You've got a line down the centre of the car there, are those verts welded?
The wheels look good, however the lights look like they are a map.
You also need to put the Ferrari logo on the front.

Nice model but cut down on those exahsts in the rear. all you need is two pipes - one on each side. six little ones look dinky.
Also.. that material is... wicked. not the best for a car but definately one to share...

first off, what program(s) are you using for this model
second, it looks like the body is on the ground, i would reccomend giving it a small lift, just enought so the wheels would be about 2 inches off the ground in real life.
the material is kinda strange looking, but it doesn't need too much work
otherwise, good work, i cant do it

I can see you had a lot of work, and i do respect that, but, well... may I ask why do you want to tune an enzo? it looks perfect just the way it is, and... why does it have porsche's wheels?
though, taste apart, it's a fine model, and maybe a better texturing and illumination, gi for instance, would make it look better

Nice start
Model is nice, but not accurate, the 2 black areas on the front are supposed to be air vents I believe the holes in the hood are infact where they come out, the same with the nose of the car the air vent angles down and forces air under the car. The material for the car is a bit too reflective IMO.
Keep us posted:thumbsup:

The modelling is nice, but to be honest I'm not a fan of this model. The renderings also don't do it much justice, the surfacing/reflections/etc of the car just look weird and too CG.
Firstly, the wing. Why? The Enzo already produces plenty of downforce and the wing would probably only disturb the airflow and potentially cause a lot of turbulence towards the aft of the car. The wing is also very plain looking and doesn't really seem to have any styling that is prevelant through the rest of the car.
Also, why did you chose to get rid of the large vents forward of the rear wheels? Right now it looks you changed them over to a downforce element, yet as I mentioned, the Enzo already delivers plenty of downforce stock. Also, it looks like there should be venting right behind the front wheels, yet it's just a panel, again, I don't see the point in this. At high speeds there's going to a vacuum created, and the air is going to be sucked in and thus you have more turbulence, which is going to affect the way the air carries throughout the rest of the car behind it. Also, how do you plan on keeping the massive brakes in back cool? And how do you plan on feeding air to the 6 liter V12 back there?
As for the back, as already mentioned, it's way too cluttered and no need for those smaller exhaust pipes. Having more exhaust pipes is going to add weight, and it's also going to distrupt the airflow exiting the engine, which means the engine can't breath as well (it's not just about intaking air). Why the lip at the bottom of the back? I would expect more of a diffuser type of deal to help aid in the removal of air from under the car. The quicker/more efficiently you can expell air from under the car, the less pressure you have, which results in the car being pulled to the road. Oh, and it's hard to tell without any shadows, but it appears that your car is way too low to the ground and could bottom out at any time.
As for the wheels, well, heh, I dunno what to say, IMO they're ugly and they don't belong on a Ferrari.
In short, the modelling is ok, the renders need a lot of work, but the overall design just flat out is nasty to me. It could be that I hate seeing such a great piece of machinery altered in such a way that doesn't make sense, or it could be that I'm just nitpicking too much, but I think it's the former. I guess too the fact that you said it's a custom *tuner* (tuning usually means tweaking and refining for the better) that gets me since none of the "tuning" really makes sense.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough.
