Mega Robot Smelly Finger
Here is another inhouse production between projects mostly for fun but also because we wanted to do something with the Mega Robot in HD.
So this time it´s a spoof on an internet classic.
I wanted to try a more cinematic look this time. The previous versions have had a more documentary look to them but now it´s all HD and heavily graded:)
Hope you like it. Please comment on anything you find annoying!

This is a definite subject for plugging!
Can't belive there are no comments yet.
Shading, lighting, compositing, animation, modeling, sound = awesome. Nice foggy dusk-mood. The backdrop makes it feel very Cloverfield.

Thank you guys!
As always there are things one like to improve but time is of course limited when it comes to inbetween projects. It was great fun though!
Best regards and keep up the good work!

Very nice animation, guess the idea came from the movie with the monkey that does the same thing. Looks quite a bit more fun with a big robot though :D

Heh this is really cute! I particularly like the shaders and textures on the robot itself, he has a really great look. I know this was posted quite a few weeks back and I apologise for not having seen it sooner - I have to admit I can be a bit slack about checking out our animation gallery and as such, a lot of the animations posted here get little to no love. This thread was brought to my attention by another user, so I hope you will appreciate the plug, even though it's come at such a late hour.
Lol, nice work

I like the look of it, and the animation is pretty good.
But whats up with the camera? I know your trying to keep the scene alive and not just be static, but its moving too much I think, especially at the end...feels like there is an earthquake or something.

Hello there, that was really awesome for an inhouse project. Really loved the textures and shaders of the robot. Would love if you can share some of what you learnt in the compositing process.
My company is trying out personal projects or working on small bits of old projects to iron out our render pipeline and work out compositing. Tons of problems with kinks here and there. Things like zdepth not working as well as we'd like etc etc. So please do share if you can and dont mind =)
cheers and thanks for sharing the work. Great job

Awesome! Made me laugh.

Perfect. hahaha This is how I like my CG shorts, very short. I love how he announces his dominance to the world, arms raised, and then just reclines like the rest of us to something mundane. hehehe
04-15-2010, 05:04 AM
Hahahaha! very well done.

Pretty sweet. Nice job.
That more ornate building in the background caught my eye because I see it from my porch in NYC everyday. haha. Was just out there looking at it thinking how I should make a matte painting with it.

Oh! I remember him! had his video on my ipod, the one with him smashing the house after the dog was barking and then slipping on that car! Thaaat was hilarious!
