Hi all..

I have a really annoying problem that someone who knows what they are doing will solve in seconds.

I am trying to make a polly object from extruding from a shaped line, which has two renderable / visable sides.

However i can only see one side/face after extruding the line.

Cheers
Carl

Could you post a screenshot to visualize your problem? I fear I don't really understand from your description...

Thanks for getting back to me..

i think i have solved the problem by applying a standard material but making it a "2 sided" material.

But... i would love to know if i can actually make the object 2 sided/ ie to have a rear face as well as a front one..

here are the screen shots.. the wiggle line is what i started off with..

I'm no Max expert, so I fear I can't really help you here. It really seems like a rear normal / backface culling problem. Normally it's left to the renderer to decide whether to render backfaces (i.e. 2-sided polys). I don't know how it's handled in Max. Seems like you found your solution though.

By the way, are you running Max on a netbook? :argh: Or did you simply resize the window?

well the solution i found works for this particular "thing" so ill guess ill search for another solution when it fails me next time.

and yes.. just resizes the window and then ALT+Print Screen.. :)

Again thanks

Just apply extrude modifier to your spline before you convert it to editable poly. After that you can convert it if you want.

Peace
