View Full Version : Particles Proper on Frame1

I have an animation setup of an aircraft sitting on a runway ready for take-off. I have engine thrust particles setup and they work fine. Problem is, I want them to work fine starting on frame1 since it's basically silly for me to have to adjust all other animation to accomodate PFlow in getting this right.

The particles inherit the emitter motion and the emitters are linked to the aircraft. When I set the birth to start at -100, the particles are all present and accounted for on frame1... this is fine. But when viewing the aircraft from the top view, you can see that the particles (which basically form two straight lines coming out of the engines... see attached image) do not form up on the proper lines until about frame 30-35.

I can't seem to figure out if I can get them on the proper lines starting on frame1. Is this not possible?

Thanks!

What are you driving the motion with?

John,

The emitters are just linked to the aircraft.

I got it sorted... although I had already moved the prior position keys to frame-100, I had not moved the rotation keys far enough to the left to elimate their influence. Once I moved the rotation keys to -100, the particles behave themselves on frame1 and are now falling in line.

Thanks anyway!

Ah good, so they are inheriting from the aeroplane, I was thinking that is odd behaviour for standard (non-time ranged) spacewarps,
