When my scene with 3D test objects in Boujou is finished i open it in max but the geometry is gone, i have only my trackerpoints.

Is it possible to export also the testgeometry to max?

In realviz matchmover you can see the homegrid (mostly my floor) which get's exported and imported in max, what makes building up the geometry a piece of cake.

I used Boujou because the scene was too difficult for Matchmover.

If it's NOT possible to export the boujou geometry, who do you guys line up the geometry in max with the scene?

you snap the geometry to the imported points? what techniques do you use?

I got the impression that the geometry in Boujou was just a way to check for tracking slip/errors inside the killer app.

So now I guess it is time to turn on the background plate and manually align your CG elements over the tracked footage.

You might try another app to generate the geometry and then line that up once imported into max... but I doubt this will be easy or clean.

Perhaps you felt that Boujou did geometry extraction, but I think it is just a bitchen camera extractor. I wish I could spring for it but at 10 grand it is going to take a job to justify and pay for the clownware.

What is the nature of your composite?

i thought it was also possible to export the trackpoints AND the geometry i placed in the scene as reference in max, but am just gonna align the max made geometry with the Snap function.

the scene is at a reception desk of a newspaper publisher, aliens walk by asking for info at the receptionist, which is a retarded droid. the camera is travelling.

Sounds cool PIXAR, I hope you will post the final render with some comments on the production - I always like to evaulate new software on someone else's dime if possible.
