Hi
this is a character i modelled some time ago on max 4 and now i got back texturing it in max 5 and photoshop.
actually i made him especially for texturing practice since frogs has amazing textures.
i thought about adding SSS to the red/orange parts but i don't have the render for this job

any ideas for more details that i could add or change for the texture or model?

Hey, all looks good on it. Except for the material. Looks more like a plastic bendable toy than a moist frog. Could just be me though.

Also a very wierd position for a frog stance, gave me a laugh :)

Lookin great, hope to see more updates, and maybe even a rendered scene with him in it.

Hi Tek, Thanx for the reply
any ideas on how to make it less plastic look?
does it look plastic all over or only in the red areas?

and does any1 have any idea what's going inside this frogs' mouthes, i mean what kind of texture should i give it.
couldn't find any reference for that.

I think the plastic-looking problem doesn't lie in the textures but in the actual model. Check this out...any organic life form is filled with undulations and variations in the shape of the body due to the bones, organs and tendons underneath. In the front view there is a hard crease down the legs which makes it look like a plastic toy...cause plastic toys get a similar crease due to manufacturing process. Kill that crease and it will help out a ton i am sure. As for the rest of the model, besides the long undercurve of the legs the appendages are too straight, too pefect. Just throw some slight bulges here and there to just hint at a musculare structure underneath...i believe then it should be top notch! That's bein real picky though...but i imagine that is what you want...in an animation these little changes would probably go unnoticed...but in a still like that it would make a huge difference. Keep up the good work:thumbsup:

I'm not sure i understand what crease you mean on the leg.
there is one crease that is going on 2 parts of the leg that i added according to a reference that i used.

do u have any idea Where you would add the bulges? i don't want to make him too much human like
