Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone can tell me of any good tutorial sites before softimage, or any books that can teach me the basic to advance techniques please.

I'm an artist hoping to explore the seedy world of 3D animation, I mainly specialise in anime so I'm hoping to use it to complement my work. Some examples of what l like to achieve is FLCL, Animatrix, Futurama type CG. Though l would wish to do character animations too.

l heard of their softimage training bundle which costs $75, but any good for a noob like me.

Thanks

edharris.com (http://www.edharris.com)

XSI Base (http://www.xsibase.com)

highend3d.com (http://www.highend3d.com)

Check out Ed's Videos (if their still available, I think they are not because he is about to release new ones)

Bernard Label's Video Tutorial on 3dtutorial.com (http://www.3dtutorial.com) (a handful of new XSI titles will be available soon)

Mesmer (http://www.mesmer.com) has a handful of great books.

And of course SI's are great... well worth the download.

Good luck, look forward to seeing your new stuff.

(I think I plugged everyone... freebies are welcome... lol)

Great, you gave tutorials, but I already know these. Could you give more ? I'm especially looking for texturing and rendering tutorials. Thanx.
