Absolutely beautiful.

The only criticism I could come up with, after staring at the picture for an unnecessarily long amount of time, is that the right ear (to the creature, the ear on the left to us) looks too flat and cel shaded, and seems almost out of place with the rest of the picture.

But that is very minor, and does not distract from my viewing enjoyment at all :p

Great work! :applause:

I think it's beautiful. I wouldn't mind seing some anitomical land marks in the backside of the hand or maybe a bit more definition on the face but it's great. Froud is a good one to adapt into 3d.

Hi Kris,

this is near by awesome!!:applause:

Especially I love how you´d made the eyes of the old lady. The hand is great too.

The butterfly looks beautifull.
Great atmosphere!!

You did a great job on this one:thumbsup:

Could you give us a litte in depth description?
How long it took? Poly, Nurbs, SubDee´s?
Perhaps a wireframe?! What´s 3D and what´s polished up with ps?

I Love it

best regards

Pretty sweet. I love that book, Faerie. Of course to match their style, you would have to dirty things up a bit and mute the colors. Congrats! I think this could almost be a front-pager.

No problem... it's easy, but my english isn't that good so maybe I didn't put it right....
Each wing of the butterfly is a plane object with UVW and Bend modifiers...
Than in Photoshop Textures are painted...
and that's it. Opacity and Specular for parts of the wings that should be invisible are both completely black...
