I was looking for a few tutorials on this type of subject but really the only thing I been able to find is old 2d sprite games info.

I was curious if anyone has any info or tutorials on how to go about this?

such as making smoke-or fire- something along the lines of UT2003 sprites that they use on their game engine.

wonder if there is a way you can see their sprites + animation.hmm

well anyhelp would be great

Cheers

They were pretty simple as I recall. In the demo they had this red smoke coming down through a hole in the ceiling. It was just rotating sprite geometry, with a simple cloud texture on it. Might have been a fade out/fade in too, can't recall. Worked pretty well.

Here's a thread about using sprites for clouds in MS Flight Sim, including a neat video, and some demos to play with...

Here's a tutorial about using sprites for leaves in a tree.

Also check out the SpeedTree movies... they use sprites.
