View Full Version : Nurbs modeling Face
drawallday 09-05-2003, 09:35 PM I am working on my first nurbs head. I have this Gnomon Organic 1 Head surfacing dvd and it doesnt explain how to attach the nurbs eyes lids, ears, lips to the head. Is there any good tutorial out there so i can continue and finish the head.

WIth NURBs you don't actually attach all the pieces together.
What you do is attach the pieces one-by-one, then rebuild the surface, then detach at the same place you attached it, then delete the history. The trick is to get the surface parameters consistent throught the model, and to have all the surface transitions across seams as smooth as possible. A finished NURBs model will be made up of many, many pieces.
You can stitch them all together, but this is at the end. You can also create a lower poly wrap deformer to hold everything together during the rigging process.
