Don't you think of creating an original character?
Well, you have a good coloring but it seems like that popular invisible man. We've recently saw him as one of the extraordinary gentlemen or whatever, for that movie...
I wonder how it's gonna be YOUR invisible man, as you've said.

Damn, you're right :banghead:
Some Sean Connery thing... never saw that one.
Well, let the people on the forum be the judge of it during the voting.
This is the finished piece, maybe I'll make another one later, we'll see.

Anyhow, your character is not original.
I can't talk about the judging or voting stuff yet I think people should work more for a creative design. That should be the goal for these challenges.
Good luck...

Dinlemnis; if youd known the history off this character, youd know that "the invisable man" isnt something from LXG.
I see no difference from "the invisable man" as a concept and "The twoheaded man" in your concept. (as seen in hitchikers guide among others)
And its a darn humerous thing to draw something you cant see :D

@Alice> The movie contains characters that are already known by everybody and that's the point of it. Of course I know the character "Invisible Man" all before LXG, I just said it gained much popularity by the movie.
Now, what I don't agree is jeroentje's claim: "this will be my Invisible Man."
No, he's the invisible man that all we already know.
It's his choice to illustrate a well-known character, I don't mean that it's legally or somehow wrong to create such an art, but again, my opinion about the goal of these contests is to make original designs or interpretations and I think that design point should be more important in the judging process. That's my personal idea.
And my characters are based on the "conjoined twins" concept, besides they're not ordinary or known characters. My aim is to create different and original stuff.
I don't want to keep up with these kinds of arguements, and I think noone has time to spend hours to talk about these many times discussed subjects.
Again good luck everyone.

So, its a claim and run?
I think that if you have an issue with anyone in this challenge, or with any of the contributions, bring it up with them, or by any means with Kirt.
If you are willing to start a discussion, in the forum, about a subject then you should also be willing to discuss it.
And yes, the twoheaded man, or conjoined twins are wellknown concepts, as I said, from anything from hitchhikers guide to the galaxy to The addams Family. And I´m not saying that its unoriginal or anything, its YOUR 2-headed man.
My suggestion is that further debate about it will be taken here:

Then let them discualify me. I really don't care.
I've joined the challenge for my own personal fun. And if you don't like it, so be it. Simply don't vote for me.

I actually like the smooth way You painted this... but I'd be happy to see like 'full body' action shot :)

Nice illustration Jeroen. It doesn't seem to fit the circus freak theme, but hey ... who cares. It's all for fun and learning right?
Some people just need to lighten up a bit and illustrate just for the sake of it. There's just too much nit-picking and nagging about the rules in these challenges lately.
I say keep your entry. I wish I had time to do one.

I just picked Your name out of the air, thougt you moderated here aswell, sorry about that.
I agree with the nitpicking, just think it kinda brings one down if one is to here that ones entry isnt exepted, here in the threads. (Guess thats what moderators are for :) )
If i offended anyone, I apologice.

Nice pic, Jeroentje:applause:
I really like the rendering, it's very pleasant to look at and very clean. The smoke going down where the throat would be is a nice touch.

I simply expressed my personal idea. Again I don't know or claim anything about the rules, voting or these kind of stuff. I understand you, jeroentje, and I'll be satisfied if I'm understood too, about what I just mean.
It's just for fun or not, I'm back to work...

Update
Changed the lighting on his left shoulder.
Added a shadow of the cigarette on his right shoulder.
Changed the smoke going upwards from the cig.
Added the shape of the inside of his mouth (smoke going over the tongue, behind the teeth, little smoke upwards to the nose, to the back of his throat and down to the lungs, lungs split at the hight of the chest, but that's outside the frame and behind his shirt :P )
Cheers, Jeroentje
