View Full Version : Guitar bridge modeling help.
ArcherZG 03-18-2010, 01:34 AM Hello, I took a break from modeling for a few months and recently began a new project to get back into the game. I started modeling a Gibson Les Paul and it is coming along very nicely apart from the bridge. I cannot seem to model this piece to save my life, this is what it looks like in case anyones wondering:

Has anyone modeled a piece like this and if so give me some tips? Id appreciate it.

Yes that is perfect, how did you achieve this?
Will post step by step guide later on, when I have the time. I'll get back to you.
Sorry for taking so long.
If you don't mind, I took the liberty of simply making a screen recording of my modeling process. This saves me the time consuming hassle of exporting/importing screenshots, labelling, saving, etc. This way I could simply add captions along the way. It also gave me the opportunity to try out this copy of camtasia I had lying around :)
Here's the video download (http://nyro.de/cgtalk/bridgeTutorial.zip)
Frustratingly, the program exported the raw video and a separate flash file with the captions. You'll have to watch it in a standalone flash player. If you don't have one, you can get it here (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10) (for windows, the "projector content debugger"). Simply extract the two files in the archive, start the player, and drag the .swf file into it.
I definitely have to study the encoding options more closely.
This video is 20 mins long, but you can skim through it at your own pleasure ;)
Hope it helps

Thanks a lot, I prefer videos to anything else and your video was extremely good and clear.
