View Full Version : audio/video sync (premiere interleaving issues?)

hey, i have edited a short video to the beats of audio tracks in premiere, but when i exported it, the audio sync was off...
at first i thought it was export problem, but actually in the timeline, the audio wave form does not match up exactly to what can be heard.. (and i edited based on what i could hear).

so i tried changing the audio interleave from 1 seconds to one frame, and now in premiere it is almost the same as the exported one (audio is out of sync).

so does that mean that the audio should always be set to 1 frame? and is one frame actually "correct"?
im quite confused as to whats actually going on here.. so if anyone could explain it to me, it would be cool

Maybe a dumb question, but is your video 30fps or 29.97?

Look at your project setup, your video may have been shot at 25fps but your project is running at 29fps or 24fps.

hope this helps

hey. thanks for the replies. The frame rate is definatly 25fps right across the board.

changing the interpolation to 1 frame (from 1 second) has improved things a lot. although im still finding that premiere is not exact in displaying audio/video sync.
I often have to just judge it by what i can see on the waveform.

Im not sure if premiere needs super fast HDs to display correctly, or what the problem is...

its only out slightly now, but i am trying to do some very exact beat matching / scratch editing, so its kinda frustrating.

maybe im not using it properly, but premiere seems a little clumsy for this kind of editing. Does anyone know any programs that allow more fine control?

thanks

Hey there,

Nick already told me you were having troubles... I didn't know you visited these forums though! I have never had audio problems with premiere (yet) so I can't help at all... just thought I would say hi and good luck.

Maybe you have to delet all your preview files of the project, that helped me when i had that prop.

heh, :)

I really wan't to see the final now! I'm sure Nick will show me it soon. The Benson continuity issue was so funny. Really clever and Nick even showed me that the armband was there aswell!
