I am trying to fix the configuration for my new PC and Can't decide about motherboard so please help me give some suggestions...

Processor : Intel Core i7 920 (2.66ghz)

Ram : 6GB (Gskill)

Hard Disk : 1TB (Seagate)

Graphic Card : Nvidia Geforce GTX 285 1gb

Cabinet : Cooler Master HAF 932

SMPS : corsair 650 watts

Monitor : 22" samsung

I am confused about wheather to take

1.Intel WX58bp (Workstation motherboard) = Very Low Price Compared to others in this list.
2.Intel DX58SO
3.Gigabyte UD6
4.Asus Rampage II
5.Asus Pt6 Deluxe V2

My doubt Is.

Will I have any performance Issues If I go for WX58bp since its low end Workstation Board.

Short: NO!

But you probably doesn´t support good overclocking features like the other boards in the list.
Also this Server Board needs ECC RAM Module and can hold maximal 16GB in 4 DIMMs, but triple Channel is supported as well.

So Will I have problems using Gskill 1033 DDR3 Ram,(6 GB = 2GB x 3)

Or should I go for Corsair Dominator 6GB Kit.

With the Intel WX58BP Board you can NOT use none ECC RAM, neigther Gskill nor Corsair Dominator. Sorry, but this board ONLY supports RAM with ECC features.

Anyways, if you like to overclock the i7 920 I wouldn´t recommend you to buy this board, also you should buy at least RAM with 1333Mhz

Which samsung monitor? With what your building, wouldn't it make more sense to go for at least an IPS screen? I would only recommend that if you go 22" that you buy the Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA. When on sale its the exact same price as any 22" TN monitor. Too many people buy top end components only to neglect their monitor and peripherals! I mean its only the only way an artist can communicate with their machines and receive accurate feedback. Nothing too important there right? :p

To stay on topic, if your buying the 920, you should look to overclock. Get a consumer x58 board and clock that baby up to 3.6ghz at least.

Thanks redpandafire (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=404764) For advice on the monitor and I will definitely take an IPS screen:thumbsup:....
