Hi folks. First post ever here. After some comments on this WIP. Its a 2000 model Ferrari F1 car (no, really!!). Was done in lightwave, and rendered without any fancy techniques like radiosity. There is, however an HDR environment map to liven up reflections and break up the spec hits etc.... Still got some work to do on the wheel alloy ( any suggestions???) and it's also going to need some brake discs so it can stop.

Cheers!!

Great work, very nice render! Lightwaves renderer produces beautiful results, how long to render each image?

Very nice bernos. Realistic. Your right about the rims. Also the spec on the tire treds could be dulled up a bit. Maybe a little too shiny?

looking good bernos :p

Tbonz, renders take around 20 mins for 1280x720 image on dual pIII 700, 768meg, Geforce. Pretty happy with this figure considering the output.

Thanks for the tip Sigma. Im considering making the actual tread (the bit that comes in contact witht the road) a separate surface to the sidewall, as the sidwall is usually quite shiny, the tread dull.

Cheers

The model looks sweet, great job. The one things that stand out to me right now are the tires. I know its a new car but look at the tires they run, they're not as shiney. and have some more texture/bump depending on how long they've been running that tire

That and getting those rims touched up are going to make this a great image. Good job

Very cool modelling. my only comment is that the tip of the nose seems a lot sharper than on the real car.

Excellent results.

Wow... I'm an F1 fan... Can we have more renderings or different angle?? Can I have that huge rendering so that I can save it as my wallpaper? hehehe...

I like it. Very nice work. I'm trying to learn about how to go about modelling this kind of thing right now, so I'd love to see a wireframe.

PLEASE!

Great model! I love the second render. On the first one it has some weird artifacts in the reflections it seems... could be the jpg though...
