I posted this in the "post your aircraft" thread but due to the huge amount of pics on rotation in that thread I dont think anyone saw it. I hope I dont tic someone off by posting it again. This is a shot of the project Im working on now. I work for a company doing CBT's on the V22 Osprey for the U.S. Marines. This is my rebuilt model that I did. The texture is a collaborative effort between me and my colleague Jeremy Correl. Rendered with V-ray free.

This is one of the best modelling i have ever seen. Looks good. But the texture looks abit "new" / Clean

I really love the level of detail you put in this model. The lighting is really working!

I'd love to see what the mesh looked like.

How long did it take to render in V-ray?

Great image... GI sure adds to it

Thanks for the comments. The render was about like 4 minutes with the high settings. The good thing about vray is that you can get a really close representation with the very low settings and that takes like less than a minute to test render.

The original texture was kinda dirty but I had to go back and retouch it alot to clean it up...the military likes their aircrafts to look brand new when your showing it to them.

I dont know if I can post wires but I'll see what I can do ;)

@3Dflasher Nice work man like the modeling very much. Lighting sucks.

@Digital Backlot. No lighting is crap for the composition render. GI might be a cool thing but the light in the last render comes from a different direction and there is no real shadow to be seen.

Thanks for the crit, but I dont know what you mean. I got a direct light comming in from the top right ...just like in the background plate. If you look at the buildings the shadows on the ground are being cast from the top right. i appreciate the crit but maybe illustrate what you mean in a real pic or something cause if I'm off I'd like to know. I kinda agree with you that maybe their should be a harder shadow being cast by the wing onto the body, but to say it sucks means that Im waaayy off. Im actually very satisfied with the lighting...and its not just a defalut GI setup :)

Prayas, not only do I think you're wrong, I think you're way out of line. Nothing about this render sucks. The only thing that sucks is your inarticulate critique. You should either be constructive or shut the f*ck up.

I think the modeling is great, but I do think it needs a little texture work. The surface looks very smooth and toy like. Maybe some dirt and specular maps would add more detail and history to this model. I would also say that the lighting in the composit shot doesn't look quite right. I feel like I should be seeing more of a shadow under that wing. The lighting seems to be a little too diffuse. and of course you should turn up the samples on that motion blur :) but otherwise I would say it looks great. Good job!
