Hi all,

Hoping someone can possibly help me out ,
When converting polys to Sub D, do uv's get copied aswell? I have a hand model , which is polys, and has its uvs layed out. When i convert it to sub d, and then assign a texture, everything looks fine. HOWEVER, if i save, then close the file and re open it, faces on the sub d seem to lose their uvs and i get "holes" in my texture.

Anyone got any ideas? thanks in advance:thumbsup:

that sounds really strange to me :hmm:

the subd gets his UV from the poly. as long as you don't assign UV's to the subd. you could try to delete the subd shape (not the poly proxy. just hit the down key and then one of the side arrow keys to get the shape). and then convert the poly shape to a new subd. it will look the same and should have the UV Coordinates.

do you have triangles in the poly object ? subd's seems to have problems with them. try to avoid.

Thanks for the reply :D

I tried reconverting the poly shape to a sub D again but still no luck. It is so strange though because when you go into polygon proxy mode, the holes in the textures disappear :hmm:
anyway, looks like i might have to go all the way back to the beginning and layout the uvs directly on the sub D model. argh!
