View Full Version : Animation: my showreel
frading 09-04-2003, 01:24 PM Hi everyone,
I am about to look for work again in the vfx industry, and I would like to have some critics about my reel. And if you take the time to watch it, be aware that I come from the technical side ( computer sciences engineer, to be precise ), but please, be as honest as possible, I am really curious about what professional artists may think about my work.
So here it is:

I hope you enjoy :)

I'm no professional artist, so I have no real advice to offer you. Sorry. :hmm:
Still, there is ONE thing I'd be happy to share with you...
... That showreel friggin' rocks dude! Jaw dropping stuff. The sort of stuff I'd like to aspire to.
You say you're getting back INTO the vfx industry? I'd love to know more about your background and how you did this piece.

whew, a huge thx to you!!. I really appreciate your comment. Actually, I did not mean I wanted to go BACK in the industry, because I am still a just out of school ( engineer school, not 3D ) and I had just made two internships in a good CG studio and worked two months in a small comp as a developper. So, I still do not consider myself as a 3D pro, but I am really willing to be one!
And again, thx a lot for your really nice comment! :)

i showed this to my cousin (www.nolimitdesign.org) and he said its just amazing! i also think so.
you'll get a job in NO time! good luck!
i thought it was great, i'm not a visual fx guy but i liked what i saw. My only comment would be make ur reel flow smoothly.
Better editing and defenite don't have ur contact info for 1 min.
10 sec would be good enough. Cheers.
