So got a problem in MotionBuilder 2009, I'm trying to map mocap data (.trc file) onto a character, in this case I am using Mia (included with MB).
I'm following this tutorial if anyone wants a look at it:
http://atec.utdallas.edu/midori/Handouts/motionBuilder_character.htm
I've imported my data fine, created my markerset for the actor, mapped the animation to the actor.
(PS. If I import my .hik file into MB, rather than build it, it promptly crashes. Anyone know why?)
I followed the steps in the tutorial to add Mia's skeleton. I set the character to take input from the actor, then when I set the character to 'active' she assumes the pose of the Actor.
(So far so good)
When I go back and turn the Actor back to 'active' both he and Mia crumple in on themselves until they are just a blob of arms legs and torso conglomerated at the origin.
If I leave the Actor on 'active' before I import Mia, she remains fine, but he crumples.
In both cases, they remain totally unresponsive to mocap data...
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a problem with my computer? MotionBuilder? or my Tutorial?
(PS. If anyone out there knows of a tutorial that you personally know works, PLEASE let me know...this is ridiculous that I can't make any headway...)
