In PS, the spacing of the brush should set from 10%-20%, the size of the brush pattern shouldn't be too big, otherwise the speed of drawing the prush will slow down..

When setting a square brush, the angle jitter is good to set as direction.
If the angle jitter is set as 30%, off, it can be used to draw mountains, geo...
For the roundness jitter, it's for giving the perspective variation.

When using the smudge tool, use your own brush, the spacing should be very big, otherwise, I would crashes.
To make the cloud brush, the shape should be almost round, the bottom part should be gradually approching to black.
The sky in the dusk (eveningfall) is a bit Purple! Sky is more light blueish, the Fog is more purple. Color of the montain would be Gray-Blue-Purple blending color. Color the clouds should be red, the facing light side should be yellow. Clouds are yellowish, but the volumatric gof is blueish. and the launching flare or sunshine near the lightest atmosphere are orangish.

The sky is blue because of Hydrogen, which is light. So for the sky, the higher, the bluer.
The warmest tone region should be front part, according to above.

Add texture on some already done image, use the brush with texture set to subtract mode.

In the Magic Wand tool, there's options: Anti-alias (smoother), Contiguous (nearer pixels).
After Magic Wand, choose Select/ Similar. (Good tool, it can select similar shapes all over the canvas)

Light's two primary influences: tones and contrast.

To have the unique tone and lighting but change the texture:

upper layer - Hard Light: select the region, extract, then blur it until detail is cleared away.
lower layer - Normal: The texture which will be masked the region as well will give the detail.

1. choose the most contrasty channel and copy to increase more the contrast.
2. use the shadow burn tool to carefully darken the part no needed.
3. use the middle dodge tool to give back the detail which disappears due to the contrast change.
4. use this as mask on the clouds image.

Unlike a gradient fill, which fills an area by using a linear or radiant blend of colors, the gradient map applies the gradient by using the lightness and darkness values in the image as a map for how the gradient colors are applied.
