Hey

Whats the use of AMC(and asf) files in motion builder, when i load them i get to see the joint structure, how can i assign in to any joint of my characters....should i just export them to my 3D app?

basically can someone tell me how to use the different file formats, most notably:
C3D
BVH
AMC

thanks

with any skeleton from any source once you load it in to MotionBuilder you need to create a character node and drag and drop /assign the skeleton nodes to the mapping list . Make sure the skeleton is in a T stance as strait as you can get it and then characterize it.

You only need to do this once per skeleton. Once done you can then just import /merge more animation data on to that skeleton file and either plot to a rig to edit or use as a source for another character to do a retarget.

also make sure if the skeleton is not in the T pose set the skeleton to 000 rot and Z to 0 an X 0 the height get it close then characterize an set the input for your character to the.

I learn to jus trash the bvh animation set up the skeleton to the y pose then re-import the bvh an set the option to merge an your character should flow along nicely ill make a tut when i get some time
