I recently had the need to sweep a highlight across some text and I used CC Light Sweep to do it. But, in playing around with it, I wondered if there was a way to get more of a bloom affect on this. Is that possible?

What I normally do is duplicate the text layer, fill it with a new color (Sometimes in 32 Bit I will crank that color up superbright) and then add a blur or a glow. If you want to keep the control of the CC Light Sweep effect, drop it on a normal solid, set it to "Cutout" and use it as an alpha matte for your duplicated layer. That should give plenty of options.
