Hey gang,
I'm looking to parent one object to another keeping the z and x translation info only.
I don't want rotation and I don't want the Y translation info.

I'm assuming you need to use a relation constraint (unless there is an easier constraint)... but relation constraints do seem like a big dark hole.

Anyone know how to set something like that up?
Thanks in advance.

You could do it with a relation, but it may be just as easy to do with a Position constraint. Create the position constraint, select the constraint and in the property editor, uncheck "Affect Y" under the Constrain Axes group.

Wow, _stev_ thank you.
I didn't realize it was that easy.
I guess I forget that constraints have additional info sometimes on their properties tab. It's easy to think that you're seeing it all on the constraint setting tab.

Thanks again.
