View Full Version : WIP: Dragon
LOOK DOWN FOR THE UPDATED VERIONS!
Well this is my first post here, well first 'real' post....
I'm working on a dragon, it started out more as a test of new paper (bristol).
Could use some C&C :)
I'm 19, and still learning and stuff so do keep that in mind.

I know about the problems with the belly and the alignment of the wings... but fixed that allready on paper! :)

good drawing although it seems like a sketch it alredy has feeling of space and aerial perspective, just put it a bit more off center and do some background too:thumbsup:
Thnx!
This is a cutout version cause the whole version wouldn't fit... :P
And yeah background... I'm still thinking what I should do there... maybe just mountains and a sky.. or a burning village... or a big tower... or more dragons.. or or or.... sight.... it's hard..
Small update(note: its not scanned but photographed... so bad quality):

:) thnx!! I hope I will soon, but that damn time... I wish there would be 3 or 4 more hours in a day.... that would make my life soo much easier!

That's a really nice drawing. Good job, your in the right forum if you want to take your skills to the next level. IE. doing some Digital Illustration and 3D modeling work.
Do you do any 3D?
Wow thnx for all the positive reactions!
DrakeX: soon when I finish the dragon itself, I'll scan it!
d4rk: Yeah you're right but photographs aren't a problem, and i'm not gonna post that high res :)
-=[RoX]=-: Thnx :buttrock:
hkbasravi: Thnx! well I did do 3D actually, a while ago, but I focused more on drawing the last year or so...

I think you may want to darken the dragon's belly a little. As it's under the dragon, you may want to darken it anyway, but other than that, it would make the wings seem more self-radiant or see through.
Since the rest of the belly area is dark, and the natural tendancy for darker things to be from the bottom, if you darken the belly slightly, it will still seem brighter than the rest of him.

Game Keeper: thnx! not good enough though, can't make a living from it.
Bonzo:
Thnx for the tip! I agree with you, I will darken it slightly!
Yet another update :)

great!!!
I'd like to know - what types of pencils do you use or what technique? Because when I draw with pencil I smudge the whole image... Thanks
DrakeX:
Thnx! Well, it's not good enough since it's not my fulltime job yet. :)
I started drawing about 2 years ago, and well now I'm here and got a my first real showcase gallery in December. Pretty weird I can tell you that!
Soul:
Thnx! great to hear that!
Jakub:
I use VAN GOGH pencils ranged from 4H- 9B
If you got that, put a blank white paper under your drawing hand it prevents some of the smuging.
it's in the finished forum now! :D finally!
