Although a lot of the stuff can be geared towards the hobbyist, there are still a lot of good stuff there. Jinny is probably the most knowledgeable person I've ever come across when it comes to Painter. I've invited her to come and hang out when she's got time.

Hi all,

Thanks, Rob, for the very generous comments on my knowledge of Painter.

Truth is, I learn something new from other Painter users every day, or their questions force me to find new answers.

While PixelAlley has a lot of tutorials for Painter 5, 5.5, 6, and 7 there are newer ones at TutorAlley Forums plus continuing discussions, questions, answers, and currently needed information that relates to Painter 6, 7, and 8 as well.

Most of the information I've published on Painter is in response to user questions, or inspired by their questions, so if anyone wants to know something, I'll do what I can to help.

You guys will have to supply the painting talent. I can help with the program so you'll have the freedom you need to work creatively and efficiently.

That's how my classes are designed too, to give the user a good foundation no matter how they'll end up using the program.

By the way, painters of all kinds, illustrators, and other professionals use the same features hobbyists use and it's a good idea to learn as much as you can about what Painter offers.

How you make use of these features is up to you.
