Currently i'm thinking of buying some "academic" learning tools (for example, MAya 4.0 Multimedia Bundle - Classroom Use) from the A|W website.

What i am wondering is this.

Can i purchase one of those packages just like that ?
And what if i were to use the package as "learning material" for people without making any commercial things whatsoever.

I don't see anything on the website of A|W saying that if i purchase one of those packages i cannot use it...
so i assume that i CAN use it to teach other people without having to have a certified A|W license.

Am i right ?

Uh, the package doesn't include any actual Maya software, just reference materials and tutorial files...

Get this:
http://www.aliaswavefront.com/en/Community/Special/ple_announce/index.html;$sessionid$OU2X5XQAAD2EZQCLCVBRT4Q

It's to be released in Feb. Free Maya. All renders are watermarked and it's file format can't be exchanged with the commercial version.

i know the package doesn't include any actual Maya software, what i was trying to ask is if i could use the package as student "material".

Sorry, no offense meant...

I would call A|w, and ask, the project files in the kit might not work if you were using the new Maya PLE...

Be interesting to see what the A|w website offers with the PLE section...
