Hi. I'm using 3d studio max 5. I'm currently rigging my character and I applied a skin modifier to my model, then added the bones to the modifier. When I click edit envelopes, the mesh doesn't get shaded blue, and I can't see the vertex shaded representation of the weights. The vertices are colored, yet the faces are not. It shows up as all white.

I tried tinkering with the texture preview on/off. I tried tinkering with polyedit's soft selection shading toggle on/off. I tried toggling mesh transparency. Nothing is making it work like normal. What gives?

It usually works. I even started a new file and applied skin/bones and the blue/red shows up like normal to represent skin weights. Did I do something wrong to my mesh? How do I fix it? Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks.
