View Full Version : Character for XSI?
dsepshn 09-03-2003, 03:24 AM Does anyone know where I can get a free character for XSI? I just got a gig and the pipeline is XSI. So I got a trial version of XSI and was hoping I could find something to play with to get adjusted to XSI. (Maya user)
Thanx

Thanx,
But I was looking for one that was rigged.
Any Ideas? Somethin basic, just want to do like a run test or somethin of that nature. a crash course in animating in XSI

actually all the models provided with XSI are ready for a rig. You just have to provide the rig. Tis is what you have to do, once you add a model you can then go into netview, think in the animate section and just drag the man rig into the scene, then just add the rigs envelopes into the model ( i forget how but i think it is done with the property tab) and thus you will have a fully rigged man model ( if you use the the biped guide thing you can actually resize the whole rig for any other model). If you press f3 while having the root selected you will see the synoptic view open showing you different poses, and giving you sliders for fingers and stuff.
Now i know you want to look at the rig so just read what the guy who made the rig says, he explains a little wha the put into the rig ( though not much), then just proced to pick the rig apart to see what was done. ( warning scripted operators i think are not supported in the exp version - the rig uses quite a bit of this i think
If this wasn't helpful just read the helpfiles which i think describe what i just said.
