Hi everyone,
I've started paiting my first polygon head wich i've posted some pictures in another thread where you could see some wireframes
here (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?=&threadid=84832/) .
The textures are painted in photoshop, no real photos used.
I found very hard to fix textures around nose, especialy the bump map. Any suggestions?

This is good work don't know why you haven't had any comments. Anyway I like the look of both styles but the first one has far to much specular, I mean what has he been doing? Also the second style is good but the strange pink bits and the areas on the forhead and cheeks that look like paint has been scraped off pull down the quality, even if this is the effect you were looking for. Overall very good though just fix it up a little and post it finished:thumbsup: .

i definately like the second image of the head better. the specular level was way to high on the first but it is still really good work! for some reason the texture on the jaw line is throwing me off... it has the feeling of a face but i think it is a little to prominent... not sure what it is actually... i will look at this more and comment again later on my findings. but overall keep up the good work! i like what i am seeing!!

I'm happy with your comments. It seems there is still some people alive here. sorry for being late to reply you.
Here is some wires of the head before somthing so you could judge better.
The first picture is a single rendering, but the second is done in 2 layers then composed later. to get some specular in the second i used some raytraced reflections by putting a big plans near the head. I'll try to fix that problem in the next try.
EvilBlah, TheLegend299 and LIMBAUL_ABIGGOR thanks a lot.

well i said i would inturn go check your post so here i am.
yes very nice. it seems as though there either you are rendering low subpatch or you are using to much weight control around the eyes. the geometry there is very hard. but i like the way you have added geo to add character. try and reduce geo roung nose (model ingeneral ) as it is looking very hard there. the nostrils are very squarish.

texturing is coming along nicely. i love the skin around the jaw and chin area.

ok well keep working. i need to get back to mine and try to get to the level you are at !

bye

Hi

I think it is a good start.

The redness on the ear is very strange. The falloff of the red is much too sharp, and I don't think it's placed right, either.

The lips, i think are a little too glossy on either image. At least the bottom one. Also, the forehead and cheeks (and possibly the nose too) are a little blown-out. There isn't really any gradation going on across his forehead, it seems kinda flat (probably from spec. values).

These are my humble opinions...

I wish to thank everyone here. you're very helpful.
for the redness of the eyes, you're right blakboks, it was just a work of 2 minutes for drawing a map conected in the ambient color, i meant to simulate some translucence but it seems that it's not giving the result wanted.
I'll try to have a better rendering and fix the hardness around the eyes.
thanks again.
