View Full Version : texture quality in viewports
Thekkur 09-02-2003, 08:28 PM I can't find the way to make bitmaps in the viewport appear in a higher resolution. (in order to use them as a guideline for line modeling) Currently I use the bitmaps as maps on objects, but all detail is lost. How could I do this?
Thanks!
using max 5.0

Usually the options related to bitmap display size in the viewports is located in the viewport display driver's setup. This can be accessed here: Custumize/Preferences/Viewports/
There you will find a "Display Drivers" box, whwre you can access the setup. Just adjust the bitmap download sizes to the highest level.
(Also, if you're not using any hardver acceleration, use one... :) )

On a side note, i've noticed that when using unwrap up.. if you click off the "use default size" option in advance.. the image displays a bit better (in the uv editor). Im not sure if this is just a weird aliasing issue or if it realy will make your mapping more crappy if you dont.
