Hi guys. I want to render an exterior scene with mental ray. There are several issues, which I want to understand. I load my HDRI into skylight, copy it into environment, but it doesn't show into environment when I render (the sky looks like a solid color).
I also need that sunlight casts reflections, not just diffuse. I use sunlight, bit looks like it doesn't.
So where have the cool HDRI effect gone? And how to make the sun to reflect? Should I use an area light instead of sun?

Try setting the skylight to "use scene enviroment", so it will take the map you have in your enviroment slot. This should work. What multiplier do you use for the sun? since this shader is designed to work with the photographic exposure control...?!?!
