I've been doing this project off and on for a long time. It started out very basic and just grew and grew. I haven't posted any images of the room anywhere other than on my website (http://www.zytrex.com/) for a very long time.

3ds max 5.1
Photometric lights with area shadows
All procedural textures except the wood on the chair, the wood on one of the tables, the tile on the floor, and the background. The tile was made in Photoshop with a combination of real images and procedural textures.

I'm looking for comments and crits, so fire away! :)

I forgot to mention that I used to use radiosity for this scene. The results were pretty good but the render times were ridiculous. Also, I like to render off small little sections of the images to see how a particular objects is changed when I alter some settings. But with radiosity, I had to recalculate the solution every time I made changes. Without the radiosity, I can see the results of changes much faster, within a few seconds in fact when I just render off a small section.

I like everything but the enviroment outside...the radiosity looks great though.

Hehe, thanks, but I'm not actually using radiosity. I got sick of it and went back to standard lighting.

As for the background, I can't believe how many complaints I get about it. I mean, it used to be really, really terrible. I found a better pic and did a bunch of work on it so I could fit it into the scene. I guess it could be better, but I don't know what to do about it. I can't paint. Any suggestions?

Finally, any comments or crits about the scene, other than the background, including even little tiny details that some people may think don't matter but that any of you still might see?
