Hi. This is my 3rd short titled "Fists of Furry" starring Karate Puppy and Karate Doggie. My goal with this short was to not only tell a funny story but to continue perfecting my animation skills. I was criticized of my previous shorts (The Beetle Bully and Hunt or Be Hunted) for the animation in them, and I was determined to have better animation when doing this short. I have been doing 3D for 1 year now and I think I have improved. This was all done in Maya 4.5. Please give me any comments you want, especially on the animation. Thank you!

This is a 15 mb file and you will need DivX to view this, if you don't have it, please download it for free at www.divx.com (http://www.divx.com)

I think you have a good start man..........try to work on the environement a bit, maybe a dojo? and I would think the puppy should be a lot more scrawny to emphasize that it would be difficult for him to break the board. Also I noticed you have a little tangency problem with your walking. Tray and flatten those keys down to lock the feet to the floor rather than the skate effect.

Good work mate........Keep it up!

Thanks, and yes, that is a problem I'm still having. I try as to get the feet to lock on to the ground but they still look like they are sliding. I'm sure I'll get that problem figured out soon though.

Your curves are interpolating in between which is causing the over and undershooting. In maya go into your graph editor, select the keys that are in relation to the ankle and click "Flat Tangents". This will allow your curves to go straight from one key to the other, which prohibits the overshoot. Also get rid of any erroneous keys as well.

Cheers

Well, other than the foot sliding thing, was there any thing in the story and/or animation that anyone would like to comment on?
