I'm new to this modeling still. I just did a tut on using hyper nurbs to model an old Chevy out of a single block. I learned a lot - but I have a long ways to go!

I am amazed at the work that I see here, and I have a few questions:

1- How do you personaly prefer to model a car? With Hyper Nurbs and a single shape or are there other - better - ways?

2- Any recomended tuts on the most common meathod for modeling a car that you may know of on line?

3- How many hours goes in to an average high-end model? I know that that is a very subjective question, but try to give me your best estimate.

Thanks a lot
Carl

well modeling time is not always that extreme ya know. its everything else that adds the time into it. And with everything the more experience you have the better you get.

Hey Finalcut, where did you find that tut? I'm a beginner at modeling too, and that sounds like it could be pretty helpful...

1- Hi, I prefer modeling a car building different parts (hypernurbs>simmetry>polygon). This method was posted by KevinA on this forum (do a search).

pro: you can better control details on your car
cons: if you have to reshape some parts you have to make double work (as you have to realign points of 2 different parts for example)

2- KevinA method :applause: on this forum as previously said or car tutorial on www.c4dportal.com

3- It is very difficult to answer. I think an idea is from 25 to 40 hours. Hope to hear other comments about this subject

Bye

:)
