Does anyone know of there are renderers except renderman to render separate light passes at once?

Well in Maya you can do it with Contribution Maps in the render pass system using Mental Ray.
It seems rendering in one go.

Then 3ds max should have it also. But i can't find it in the manual for some reason.

As far as I know you don't have something comparable to contribution maps from maya in 3ds max. Too bad... please correct me if I am wrong...

That's correct. Only finalrender supports it for its native passes. It's a shame. Makes the separate lights rendering useless in max, as rendering them separately doesn't cut it. It's one more reason to switch to maya...

Well, did you ever try to use passes and contribution maps in maya for big renders? Say, 6K renders? Probably not, because then maya keeps crashing all the time and you will be happy if it even renders a beauty with mental ray. So, don't let us get another app war here, they both have their strength and issues. (And I use both at my work, so I can say that from having some experience with both apps...) As for the light passes... For me it's more important to get the "usual" passes out of the app, even if I don't have seperate light passes...

Even though the grass is always greener in the other side but maaaaan !! The implementation of Mental Ray in Maya is one of the worst ever. The new render pass system was promising when appeared in Maya 2009 but since then nothing happened and it looks like the guy (http://www.linkedin.com/in/davelajoie)who made it has already left autodesk.
