View Full Version : AutoBackup in Softy
Hi there,
I have just a small question about the system for autobackup in XSI. I know that when you save a scene you get an incremented copy of the current scene (B1,B2 ect). But what happens to the file that is saved every 5 or so minutes? Because I can't seem to reload it after I have a crash...

Sorry but as far as I know, there is no automatic save of a scene. The only sort of automatic save occurs when you crash, XSI creates a recovery scene that will load if you ask for it when you relaunch XSI.
Cheers
Bernard
I think there's a script around for this. Sorry I don't recall where.

Well it is supposed to be saved in the hidden 'System' folder under your current project. But it gets deleted when you exit XSI normally, ie without a crash. You should try looking in there.
so if your machine crashes, will it go back to a slightly old version of your scene? Because it seems to try to save one as it crashes...
