whats the best way to add a particular tint of a certain color to video in post production. I noticed a good number of movies have scenes, or even the entire film, that have a particular color scheme. In many cases, these are effects produced by the camera or the lense, or added in post to bring out the greens, like in the matrix movies (in the matrix, the video usually has a green tint.) Anyone know the easiest way to add these subtle tones into the video using any kind of program?

Actually for film the process is called color timing and is often a chemical process performed when developing the film print rather than a post process.

At any rate there are numerous ways to color correct in a compositing program or editting program.

One way to go about it is to tint one layer a color and thne either use a transfer mode or simple do a cross dissolve withthe original until you ge thte combination you like. Or you could take a green solid and use a transfer mode to apply it to the original. Or you could simple use a number of color corrections filters to obtain the colors you want. The difficulties come when you have variations in the brightness of your original and have to tweak it for numerous shots.
