well hopefully im doing this all right since this is my first challenge and really first "project" since im a veritable rookie in cg. so being that im mostly jus hoping to do something that i can learn from and look halfway decent at the same time. and if i came out with something i could use for my portfolio for all those big happy places in the sky (a.k.a. college) well i wouldn't mind too much ;) so yea anyway this projects probably going to have limited scope since im still learing. but basically what im thinking is like this angel in the forest whos like kneeling to drink and all behind him there are these really dark evil trees like reaching out to grab him/her. so hopefully as long as nothing major comes up and my girlfriend :love: doesnt demand too much of my time than ill get something done. so if anyones interested ill with any luck have concept sketches up in the next day or two or maybe even tonight depending. so feel free to drop any constructive critiscm you guys have on me. oh and everyone whos submitted work so far your stuffs jus mind blowing :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

well heres a rough of what my trees are going to be. ive tried to personify them so there almost beings in and unto themselves. well theyre evil trees so i guess they kinda are anyway but oh well :)

not really much but this is an early render of my tree which is coming along pretty nicely for me. still got aways to go with alot of branches and getting that gnarled look but its gettin there. so if your interested heres the tree.

I love the evil tree dude. It looks like it could turn out pretty cool. I look forward to seeing this progress. Nice work

i hate being sick :p but anyway the trees almost finished and in my humble opinion doesnt look that bad. unfortunatly i jus cant come up with a look for the angel that i like so i may change it to some kinda woodland fairy or troll or something. or maybe my sickiness will make me delusional and ill make the mystical pink flying penguin :) ya never know. and thanks for the encouragment guys. much appreciated :)

ugh i cant believe how much time ive wasted :annoyed: but i finnally came up with a creature i liked. same setup as i was already planning but with this guy in it. so im gonna really have to be workin my butt off to finish this one. jus wish i knew anything about texturing since some good textures would probably help make this piece if i model it well :annoyed:

real quick update nothin too special jus a quick render of the orc/ogre/whatever he is's axe. pretty simple but i acctually finished something so i posted it
