View Full Version : Custom Shelf Buttons
studiomiguel 05-21-2002, 03:06 PM I was reading the top ten from Rhonda Graphics and am interested in toying with custom Shelf buttons. What' the .XPM format and how do I save an image file in this format. Then.... how do I get it so show up in my icons folder in maya? I am working on an SGI if that makes a difference.

as far as i remember my sgi working time, it's a different file format for the icons then .xpm. but anyway. you can use gimp. i'm absolutely sure that gimp can read the icons of maya on sgi. i have made several new ones for the mel scripts i was doing in that time. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
There's a plugin for converting bmp -> xpm, at Highend3D (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tools/)
Then just copy the new file to the folder where the other icons are, now the icon should appear just by using it's name, without the path to it!
Uh oh, I just looked abit more closely the plugin, and it seems to be for windows only :thumbsdow
