View Full Version : Can't select polygon
anespark 02-14-2010, 07:38 PM Hello,
I am trying to modify the mesh of a model that I downloaded free from the internet. In order to do it, I need to be able to select the polygon mesh, but I can't do it because it seems to be locked. Would anyone know how to unlock it?
Thanks in advance.
The software I'm using is Maya 2009

It would really help to know which program you are using. There are numerous apps out there.

It could be on a display layer with the template or reference on, Check down the bottem of your channel editor. make sure any display or render layers dont have a T or a R next to the V.
Or you could have the Select polygon option turned off. That is in your status line, If the box with a Polygon with a 2 splits in it isnt depressed then you wont be able to select any polygons.
You should be able to select it if you hold down right click on the object and then drag down to select in the drop down.
Maybe this helps?

I think i agree with harthorg. U might have turned the polygon masking off. If u tried everything that Harthorg said and it still dont work, maybe they locked the mesh itself. So you would have to unlock it by selecting the obj and on the channell box, make sure it is set to unlock.
