It's looking pretty nice. Maybe a little too clean? How about throwing a well-used record on there? Maybe a milk crate full of albums next to it, and a sheet of paper with a playlist scrawled on it? Maybe some stickers from some bands?
You need one more turntable and a microphone!

Modelling looks very detailed and fine.
Rendering & texturing: Hmm, looks a bit boring to me, not a unit I would feel tempted to buy...
How about some environmental reflections (environment with contrasts) , perhaps some tuning of the materials/textures and maybe some shadows to enhance detail.
Another option would be to put the thing in a more interesting environment... in 3D only your imagination is the limitation...
Cheers,
Rune
Thanks for the comments!
I will try to model a background scene and some records later. First I will finish the turntable.
After that I try to add some scratches and/or stickers to make it look more used.
Here are some other pics. I changed the side a bit

Better already !
Now if you want to add many scratches etc, depends if this is an exercise in photo-real rendering or if you want to make the player into an ad.
Anyway if you haven't already, you should check out the "Attention 2 detail" free videos on http://www.dvgarage.com/garage/a2d/a2d.php
If you are feeling really "masochistic" I guess you could submit your work for critique there also :)
Cheers,
Rune

pump up the volume; i can't hear anything!
Seriously it's really good looking, i'm just wondering about the shadows, it looks like there's none... i dunno; maybe, as said before, some "dirt" would add to the scene depth.
stay wild!
@runejw: Great videos! Thank you.
@nataz: it was just a fast test render. Only light soft shadows (for speed)
Here is s small update:
* new light setup (still need to tweak settings)
* started the background (only for testing)

Brilliant; it comes to life.
Just one ore two points:
i'm not familiar with this brand but on the pioneer MK2 the metal around de lamp (the switch button) & for the pitch isn't that chrome like. The tips of the table's feet are bumpmapped (tiny truncated pyramids) and of another color (the MK2's are black for instance; like the top part of the switch button also).
But these are just details ; anyway "the devil is in the details" as used to say my teacher.
Keep up!
Sorry, had some trouble with my windows partition. But it's up again.
Here are some minor updates:
* new needle
* new surface material
* better light
DOF was faked in photoshop (will be rendered later on).
