Here is my first entry. I have always had a basic idea of how I would go about creating a nuclear explosion in Maya, but this is my first time putting anything into practice, please let me know what you think of my updates.

Hey I think this is a nice idea, how does this works?, are you making particles grow along the shape or is it an animated texture?

I like the approach, I think the shape needs to be refined though.
right now it's resembling more of a mushroom, then a mushroom cloud.
maybe just a simple torus and cylinder to start with?

Hey thanks for the replies guys. Still alot of refinement needed. I am using a blendshape in maya and I have animated sprites moving over the surface, pretty simple to set up and render.
