I've updated my model, and made some cleanup chnages to the joints etc, cleaned up and slimmed down some areas, simplified some geometry but it's otherwise at a point where I can say it's finished. Anyways, this is still the first real model of anything I've done, C&C welcome!

Here are the wireframes:

Let me know what you guys think!

not too bad, can we see a wire and a close-up of the face?

looking really good, i think you should get some good replies here with fresh eyes for making this finished up...

one thing i notice is the tendon on the back of the leg to the ankle [back view] looks to sharp and stuck out.. just make the transition between the leg "meat" and that tendon smoother and youre good to go :)

 really nice model tho

Hey thanks for the crits, I did some research on the achillies tendon (the tendon connecting the calf muscle to the heel), and with some women it's predominant, and others it isn't. It all depends on the bulk of the legs and how much fat/muscle the person has in that area. A rather lean woman would have a more visible tendon, vice versa. It's really a moot issue since I will be covering that area up with a boot anyways.

I've posted the wireframes for the head, I tell you it's the hardest part of modeling that I've ever had to do.

Here are the wireframes:

Very nice work. A couple things that would really take this model to the next level are a few picky detail issues. One suggestion would be to smooth out the achiles tendon some because it makes her ankles look kind of strange, almost like wings comin off her legs...makes the bottom of her legs look too flat. Also in the profile view they are a little too wide. Another issue you might want to address is the top of her chest right under the collar bone. It's a little too thin unless you want her to have a anorexic type of look...if you're goin for that then rock on, but if not a little tweakin would add that extra punch. Nice work though...keep it up:beer:

yo yo, aight, model looks really good, especially around the torso, but theres somethin thats buggin me, the arms and the shoulders....first off, from the back view, the arms look too short, you may wanna check the proportions, second, they may be a little to thin, looking from the side view, and most importantly, to me, it looks like the shoulders are too masculin, they seem to big in proportion to the arms, anywho, thats what i see, otherwise, the legs and the torso look really good
good luck

All crits taken into consideration, I'll be fixing some of the model's flaws, There are a few areas that I would still like to fix and others that I will leave since they will be covered by costume and armor elements that I am currently modeling. I've already finished the head gear, and I'll post that asap. Thanks ppl, I'll post more when there's more to show!

I'm slowly putting together the armor elements, I'll post the illustrated character concept when I get a chance, but here's a peek at what I've been working on:

I'm still adding details and roughing in the areas where "tech" will be added in as detail etc.

I've updated my model, added on the arms and gauntlets and hands, some cleanups to somothing issues. Also worked on the horns more so they are more organic etc. Ignore the crappy open GL

renders, my vid card does some weird things sometimes.

Here are the openGL previews:

comments on the naked model:

1. ankles: yours look like they're with the shins. In appearance, ankles are more associated with the feet. On the interior ankle bone, there's not even much of a separation between the bone and feet.

2. Shoulder top muscles: Wow those are mighty tight. I don't even have shoulder top muscles bulged like that. And those muscles on the shoulder top run about half way down the upper arm. Yours have that muscle group just at the tip of the upper arm.

3. Her back arch: imminent spinal injury. Women can pose like that for a few minutes. but to stay like that, that's massive back injuries. It's okay to have the butt jotting out like that. but to have the upper back leaning that far back... well, you try it for a day. See how you feel at the end of the day. :)

The achillies tendon on some women's are more promintent, depending on the degree of deveopment on the calf muscle and the amount of "flex" being applied to it. On more athletic bodies the soft tissue between the tendon and the rest of the leg becomes rather thin since it's mostly fatty tissues. I could definately spend more time working on the interiors ankle, I think that I've modeled it to the point where it's satisfactory for my final application (it'll be covered by a boot) but as a study, it could definately use more work.

2. Shoulder top muscles: Wow those are mighty tight. I don't even have shoulder top muscles bulged like that. And those muscles on the shoulder top run about half way down the upper arm. Yours have that muscle group just at the tip of the upper arm.

Check out some women's fittness book and magazines, you'll find that not all women have extended delts. In a lot of cases the delts bulge to that degree at that position, and it may appear somewhat compact, but that's only beacuse the shorter muscles that attach it to the tendon/bone do not develop to the degree that the longer muscles do.

3. Her back arch: imminent spinal injury. Women can pose like that for a few minutes. but to stay like that, that's massive back injuries. A final point for most modelers to remember: Not all women are built the same. Some slouch, or stand with their shoulders forward, others do not have a pronounced lower back, and other's simmply have a straight as a board back with little or no arch visible. I believe the arch is fine. My overall goal was to model an athletic female body, more commonly associated with say, an amazon. I'm not too fond of seeing all the waifs and sticks that usually feature predominantly in these forums. For once, let's see a woman with some healthy meat on her bonez eh!:D

Hey ppl, I've been working sporadically on my character model. The last time you all saw her was with some basic armor and stuff. I've spent some time over the last while modeling her legs, boots etc. I'll post up JPG's of that work later, for now, here are some quick renders of the work that I've done so far in regards to textures etc. You might notice some warping or intersecting of ploys here and there especailly with the hair, but I'm still working on those aspects at this point.

I'm lovin the model. I like the leather or whatever she is wrapped in and her armor. I like her tatoo. Is her hair gonna stay white, cuz it doesn't look half bad. Nice bump map on the skin. Very glossy, though.... is she sweaty?

The modeling is superb, and the detail of the textures are great. You put in a lot of work on the stitching and leather texturing. I'm a little confused about those huge horns (kinda reminds me of the devil in Legend), and that it looks like the tattoo runs up along the fabric over the breasts. Was this meant to be a kinda see-through or "shear" material? Cause even if there was a patten, it wouldn't match up so perfectly with skin unless it was some kind if projection or something......

I like the poly hair you have going, also looks like a LOT of work. It's a really beautifull job!

i must say this is very impressive, i love what you've done with the leather and how its stiched up in the chest area. You've spent alot of time on this and it shows, my hat goes off to you for creating such a beautiful model.

Please show a full body shot with the suit cause I can't tell if I really dislike the colors. The surfacing is awsome, and I really like the white hair, but the X-Box green and brown tatoo doesn't look right to me. Try different colors?

Hey ppl, thanks alot for your comments!

Phil: I will render out some full body shots as soon as I get some of the lower body textures done.

Soon2bAnimator: Thanks, this is really my first "real" model, it started off as a human female study and progressed to what you see now.

3D STRONG: Thanks dude!

Drakaran: The tatoo is undergoing some changes, that pattern you see for the current tatoo is actually supposed to be used throughout the leather. I'm still working on a tatoo design for her abdomen at this point. The hair is actually pretty sloppy, but it's the last piece that I had modeled before starting the texturing. I'm going to spend some time and actually tweak it more so that it fits better within the confines of her head-gear. And The horns are a bit of a tribute to the Tim Curry's Character in Legend (thanks for noticing).

Quester99: There's a lot more work that needs to go into this model, texture wise and modeling wise. I'm fairly satisfied with the progress, the skin on the face is going to need a better specular map, it's a bit too glossy as you've pointed out and I have to paint a better color map for her face.

Thanks for the comments and feedback everyone, I'll try to post up new renders by end of the week!

Her collar bones will sublimate when she raises her arms and that line you have changes.

You are not bunching up her trapezius. These and the delts are what raise her arms. You ahve her delts flexing but not the trapezius.

Her calf muscles from the front look like they are not long enough for the heels on the ground. They look to be in the shape they would take if she were on her toes.

Achilles tendon needs to drop into the claf a little sooner.

Well I forgot the other stuff.
