MKess007 08-31-2003, 05:40 PM I've seen some great matte paintings on this site, and I was wondering where do you get the nice senic photographs. Do you know a site where i can find high resolution pictures suitable for mattes?

What do you need a picture of? I might have a few laying around I have a didgital camera it takes 300 pixels per inch photo's and I have been collecting photo's of thing's for about 5 months now. Let me know if your intrested. (I don't do matte painting but I use my camera to take pictures of a varaity of things and the turn them into a kind of sketch for my paintings)

another idea. You could raid a calander then scan the photo. I'm not sure how the quality would be though.

I kind of looking for some nice mountain images if you can help me out.
I don't have much experience matte painting but I became more interested in it after editting an old family vaction picture and taking out 26 people and adding scenery. I trying to increase my skills.

for training purposes you could also try gettyimages.com (http://gettyimages.com/)
i've used some of their photos too for personal training use....for commercial use you'd have to pay for them...btw they've got a really good photo-search-engine built in...
