View Full Version : importing constraints with FBX
mlager8 02-12-2010, 02:07 PM When ever I bring motion from motionbuilder into maya with a prop constrained via parent constraint the constraint does not retain its placement I made in MB. For example I parent a bottle to a hand then move the bottle into place and lock the constraint, when I bring in back to maya the constraint is still active but the bottle is floating in front of the hand like it snaped back to its original positioning before I locked the constraint. Is there a way to bring the constraint in correctly?

Try to Plot a bottle in the MotionBuilder. After locking constraint select an object of a bottle and do Animation (near File, Edit ...) -> Plot Selected (All Propreties)

I actually figured this problem out yesterday and your solution is exactly what I ended up doing, never knew that option existed until I stumbled upon it by accident.

omg thanks for the reply, i am running into the exact problem. The solution works, Animation > Plot all is the goal :D
thanks much
