I am familiar with vue standalone but have recently upgraded to xstream, in hopes of being able to utilize maya's UI. My question is.... am i losing anything by working in maya as opposed to vue standalone. When I render I notice that the vue engine appears to take over at render time, no matter what renderer I have selected. Do the mental ray settings have any effect on the color contrast, anti aliasing etc? Is everything based on the vue engine, making the settings in mental ray irrelevant? I notice that if I add a physical sun, everything goes a little wacky. Is there anything else that will have adverse effects to the vue renders. Also any general feedback about working in xstream as opposed to standalone would be helpful.
