yuenyeh 02-10-2010, 12:41 PM i have a character with skin and some animation does ther any way just
export the total character animation from may to max ?
i have try export from maya as Fbx but while import to max
max get errors and crash down does it possible to export maya character
with animation to 3ds max correctly
help help

Try to use the latest version of FBX plugin for both maya and max. Make sure to bake all the animation to the skeleton joints wich influence the skin. And also you need to remove all the rigs from your scene. There shouldn't be any unnecessary nodes. Only the geometry and animated joints (objects) influencing it.

FBX can to that.
Baked out the animation in maya, export to fbx. We sent through in MotionBuilder and then imported the animation to Max's biped rig. Worked perfectly for us.
