Hi all,
MAXON just released the new CINEBENCH 11.5
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=852583

It should be a good helper in deciding what system is fastest for rendering or what offers the best bang for the buck. It can run from a USB stick or CD so you can easily test it on any system without having to install it individualy. USB sticks have the advantage that the results can be accumulated on them as well.
Mash updated his result site for this http://www.cinebench-scores.com/
You can download all the results he offers and install them in your CINEBENCH cb_ranking directory to get a direct comparison with your own results.
By default CB 11.5 comes with a few results for comparison (thanks to BOXX for the help on this).
Oh, there is a facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/pages/CINEBENCH/299854417486?ref=nf) for CINEBENCH as well :)
Cheers
Björn

Me too. Poor showing but to be expected.

Laptop DV7

M520 dual core score 1.28(didn't bother with unicore)

Mobility HD4530 4,3 frames per sec with 99,3% correct image.

Im only getting 9 fps with my Quadro FX 1700. Something doesnt seem right about that.

The Quadro FX 1700 is based on the GeForce 8600 GTS (G84). How much were you expecting?

Ahh... Now see, I didnt know that. I was under the impression it was based on another card.

Looks like its time for an upgrade. It is 2 years old after all.

haha a CPU score of 9.91 doesn't strike me as awesome like 20,000+ CB did in the older versions. Looks like the bucket rendering is more efficient though.

0.94? I need a new computer.

that is pretty crazy though. my 8800gts got a score of 34.xx

over 3x speed difference within the same series of cards? never seen that one on any benchmark before. especially considering we aren't talking about the lowest end card of that series. my 7800 is faster than 9fps.

what im saying is something seems wrong somewhere.

34 for a 8800 sounds like a high CPU clockrate. Keep in mind that the CPU still plays a big role in display speed. If you check mashs site you can see that the display speed and the CPU speed are related.

Weird checking GPU load while making the test- it got to 100% with GPU-Z- now i got 5,03fps with more stuff opened.

its just an intel q9550, but i have the settings set to high, so it is over clocked by a few %.

normally i under clock it so it saves "some" energy, because i dont need it for modelling ( except for zbrush).

Yes, XEON´s X5570 are just a great step forward, got 10.88 with them.
C4D 11.5 is a great step forward as well.

Absolutely. So far i know was the old one based on the the R 9 engine. Quiete a step ahead now. :)

Nope, the old one was based on R10.

Hello Björn, do you mean C4D R11 was based on the R10 engine?

It´s quiete impressive how the new engine in R11.5 speeds up rendertime.
I did a few test renders with an old car scene, it took 15s in C4D R10, 11s in R11 and just 6s in the new R11.5 - twice as fast as with R11 and three times faster as in R10. :)

Wonderfull, just wonderfull!

Every versions renderer is based on the previous version. Sometimes the changes are minor, sometimes major. New GI, Bucket Rendering / improved multithreading efficency, SPD were all major changes to the renderer, but ultimately the renderer is still based on the R4 renderer (although i doubt that a single line of code remained ;) ).
I think it's a misconception to think that only a completely new renderer realy shows progress, imo it's completely the other way around, only steady improvement and partial replacements ensure that the engine will always deliver, evolution instead of revolution, it works :D

Cheers
Björn
