View Full Version : HL2: Border Patrol - Programmers?
FerdiWillemse 08-30-2003, 10:14 PM Hi all,
We, Border Patrol, have just launched our site and have officially been announced. Now it's time to take it one step further. We are in need of professional game developers.
We need the following: Modelers, Skinners, Animators and C++ Programmers or formal HL1 programmers.
Are you interested in a position at Border Patrol? Do not hesitate to send us an email to jobs@border-patrol.nl
Visit www.border-patrol.nl for more information about this Total Conversion or email us at info@border-patrol.nl
UPDATE:
I'm sorry for the lack of information.
Border Patrol is a Half-Life 2 modification/total conversion and unfortunatly mods are initially never paid. So all the jobs we have are unfinanced. It's not a 24/7 job, you can do it besides your current job or school.
Best regards,
Ferdi Willemse

Are you going to pay us for our services or are you just another group of kids doing it for fun?:curious:

Re: FeRdi.
Sorry, its just that 9/10 times it turns out to be a bunch of kids who think professionals are going to do things for free...
Still, you guys are most likley pros who genuinely love HalfLife that much!

Hi boone,
No problem. I know exactly what kind of people you mean. I've seen many kids start mods with crappy results or dead ends.
We are taking this very serious. It is for fun, but serious fun, if you know what I mean.
We are trying to set everything up as professional as possible.
This is the only game I really wanted to mod because of it's capabilities and the SDK support we get. Therefore we choose HL2. It's not just a game, it's a piece of art, (for what I've seen/read so far) and we will try to make our mod a piece of art too.

Re: FeRdi.
Just curious - what programmers do you already have? What kind of level are they at?
I mainly program 2D games using DirectDraw7 and a little of Direct3D7...haven't got a job in the industry yet, though!

I have no programmers yet, besides me.
We've announced ourselfs for the first time on last saturday evening.
The programmers we are looking for need to have C++ knowledge.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this anymore, but I thought I'd just bump my old thread since we still need people, especially programmers/coders.
Any questions are welcome.

Well, I know C++. But I havent code yet with HL2 SDK. As far as I can remember of hl1 sdk, I got some experience. If I can help, I think it will be good!
